Christa is the Programme Coordinator for the Genomics and Global Health Programme, a role which supports MalariaGEN and the Centre for Genomics and Global Health. She joined the team in April 2014, and is based at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics at the University of Oxford.
Christa's primary role is to coordinate activities that support the Programme's strategic objectives including organising meetings and conferences as well as workshops for specific collaborative activities. In addition, she provides high-level administrative support across the Programme and supports the MalariaGEN web and social media presence.
Prior to joining the group, Christa worked at Oxfam GB as Travel Agent and Communications Coordinator. She organised large-scale training events for Oxfam’s worldwide Humanitarian Support Personnel and coordinated outgoing direct communications to supporters, volunteers and donors. She graduated from Cologne University of Applied Sciences with a degree in Multilingual Communication in German, English and Spanish and the University of Surrey with a Masters degree in Intercultural Communication with International Business.
