We are looking forward to attending the upcoming 2012 Wellcome Trust Conference on Genomic Epidemiology of Malaria (GEM), June 10-13th at the Welcome Trust Conference Centre on the Genome Campus (home of The Sanger Institute) in Hinxton.
This meeting provides a common forum for malaria scientists and clinicians working at the interface of genome science and technology, epidemiology, and statistical and population genetics, with an interest in understanding the clinical and biological consequences of genome variation in malaria-exposed populations. so is a great chance to catch up with the wider community.
Topics this year include genomic epidemiology of the host, vector and parasite, highlighting the practical relevance of this research to global health, including anti-malarial drug resistance, insecticide resistance, vaccine design, and mechanisms of protective immunity.
Registration has been extended to the 11th of May so it's not too late to join in.
